FAQs

Minor cracks, dents, or small holes can usually be repaired, but if there’s significant water damage, large holes, or mold growth, replacement may be necessary.

The time depends on the size and severity of the damage. Small repairs can be completed in a few hours, while larger repairs might take a day or two, especially if multiple layers or drying time is needed. We work to complete your repairs as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

For minor cosmetic issues, DIY repairs are often easily done. But for larger holes requiring the use of patch material, fixing water damage, loose tape, or textured walls, hiring a professional ensures a seamless finish and reduces the risk of further damage.

The cost varies based on the extent of the damage and the amount of materials and time involved in the repair. Typical drywall repairs requiring simple patches and refinishing range from $150-$500. Repairs that involve removing larger sections of drywall and installing new sheets, such as in a bathroom or laundry room, will be higher. Steps for Simple Drywall Repair

  1. Gather Materials: You'll need a drywall patch kit (or spackle and a putty knife), sandpaper, a small piece of mesh or fiberglass tape (for holes larger than ½ inch), and paint that matches your wall.

  2. Clean the Area: Remove any loose drywall or debris from the hole. If the hole is jagged, use a utility knife to smooth the edges for better patch adhesion.

  3. Apply Patch or Spackle: For small holes (less than ½ inch), use spackle or putty. Apply it over the hole with a putty knife, smoothing it out to blend with the surrounding wall. For larger holes, first place mesh or fiberglass tape over the hole, then apply spackle or joint compound.

  4. Let It Dry: Allow the patch or spackle to dry completely according to the product instructions. This typically takes a few hours.

  5. Sand the Area: Once dry, gently sand the patched area to create a smooth surface that’s flush with the surrounding wall.

  6. Prime and Paint: If needed, apply primer over the patched area, then paint with the matching color to blend it seamlessly with the rest of the wall.

This DIY approach works well for small holes, but for larger or more complex damage, it’s best to call a professional.
